Duties include, but are not limited to:

Reading prints and specifications.
Material handling, sorting and layout of building components.
Rigging, erecting and bolting steel components
Installing roof and wall panels with required thermal systems.
Installing trims and other metal building components
Operating man lifts and telehandlers
Operating various power tools
Adhering to SBL’s health and safety program, as well as all OH&S regulations
Demonstrate good judgement and safety equipment and safe work procedures to reduce the risk of injury to all personnel working on the project.
Maintaining a clean and safe work space and site

Applicants must have:

Experience with iron working, carpentry and/or installing metal roof & wall panels.
Mandated PPE, including CSA approved boots, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.
Personal tools, a full list will be provided during interviews and as part of employment offers
A valid driver’s license and own mode of transportation for, as work site is NOT serviced by public transit.
CSTS and Fall Protection certification (if you don't have this, it must be obtained prior to first day of employment)

Additional training that will be considered an asset:

Aerial Work Platform, RTFL
Enrollment any of the following apprenticeship programs.
Ironworker - Metal Building Systems Erector
Ironworker - Structural/Ornamental
Valid Journeyman ticket.
Valid first aid certification

As a Site Superintendent you will utilize your strong leadership skills to oversee all aspects of site construction, ensuring projects are executed as per drawings and to specifications; all while meeting deadlines, budgets and health and safety standards. This position is perfect for an experienced Site Superintendent who is looking to continue developing their career by working on multiple projects within a growing organization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day management and scheduling of site activities – labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring the work performed is in accordance with the most recent project plans and specifications.
  • Responsible and accountable for site reporting requirements – safety documentation, equipment tracking, look-a-heads, daily site reports etc.
  • Manage/Coordinate the delivery to site of all materials and equipment in a timely manner and as required by the project schedule.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager monitor project costs and budget.
  • Manage/Coordinate all HSE requirements – ensure the project work is executed to the highest standard of quality while ensuring all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are adhered to.
  • Responsible for maintaining the site schedule and working with the Project Manager to provide updates.
  • Attend weekly/monthly client project meetings, as well as all required site meetings
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all SBL staff, vendors, subcontractors, consultants and clients

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required

  • Ability to read and interpret building specifications and blueprints.
  • Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to interpret job vendor and subcontractor quotes and applicable budgets
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) as well as Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools an asset
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational, time-management and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others, with strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation
  • Preference for and a positive attitude towards working to meet challenges.
  • Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member.
  • Attention to health/safety of self and co-workers.
  • Excellent understanding of all construction-related matters with the ability to foresee and mitigate issues before they occur.
  • Training and experience in leadership and prime contractor roles.

Required Qualifications
